About Department

Rayat Shikshan Sanstha’s Chandrabai-Shantappa Shendure College, Hupari is one of the prominent institutes in Kolhapur district. The department of English was established in June 2010 with the initiative of the institute and demand of the alumni and parents. The department organizes various activities regularly for overall development of the students. The department conducts certificate course in ‘Basic English Course’, BOSCH Bridge course along with the activity like ‘Slow and Advance learners’ and Bridge course etc. Group Discussion, seminar presentation, film screening, project writing are regular activities of the department. The department has all tools and equipment including clever board and projector by which we can search for online study material as well as lectures.The result of the department is always higher than university result. The Alumni of the department are working on various posts, some are successful business man too.

- To meet the needs of the region in the field of translation, teaching, linguistics and English literature.
- To train the students as bilingual translators, English language teachers, and train them in linguistics and English literature.
- To acquaint students with conceptual approaches to various fields available in the English language programme.
- To help the students to develop the ability to learn and contribute critically.
