About Department

Department of Political Science was established in June 1992. The aim of the department is to create awareness among students about citizenship, democracy, national symbols, political structures and public administration. It has one full-time teacher as it is taught only to First and Second year classes of B.A. & B.Com. It makes sound use of ICT in teaching learning process. Faculty of the department has experience of 25 years. Also it provides a platform to the students for co-curricular activities such as tests, seminars, study tours etc. It also celebrates ‘Constitution Day’, ‘National Voter’s Day’, ‘World’s Women’s Day, Human Rights Day, Birth & Death Anniversaries of Social & Political Thinker. Also the department conduct a short term course “Human Rights” for every year under the Department of Lifelong learning & Extension, Shivaji University Kolhapur
