About NSS (National Service Scheme)

The National Service Scheme (NSS) is a flagship initiative under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India, aimed at fostering student engagement in societal development through voluntary service. Established in 1969 to commemorate the centenary of Mahatma Gandhi's birth, NSS has grown to become a transformative platform for youth empowerment.

About Department

National Service Scheme (NSS) has been introduced at Rayat shikshan sansthas Chandrabai-Shantappa Shendure College, Hupari in academic year 1991 as a part of the extracurricular activity and since then NSS Unit is functioning by conducting various activities to fulfill following objectives. The NSS provides students with training in leadership and excellent opportunity to develop the human side of their personality. It puts them in touch with their less fortunate brothers and sisters, the poor, the sick, the suffering. NSS has been organizing a variety of programmes on and off campus, such as blood donation camps, campus cleaning, awareness rallies, The college has NSS unit with 200 volunteers Enrollment at the college level. They enrolled from the first, second and third year degree students of the college.
